So I snuck in for a late lunch one afternoon, and really enjoyed this place. It's a typical strip mall Thai place and decorated as such, and my expectations were pretty low.
However, I found a very pleasant surprise. I was seated promptly. There was a waitress in training, and little awkward, but it was fine. The gentleman that waited on me was quick and attentive!
In a place like this I always like to let the waiter lead me. This gentleman had no problem and suggested the Golden Sacks. They were a little more fried dough than I preferred, but I just knocked the tops off. The filling was ample and delicious. I also enjoyed the sauce.
I go the Steamed Dumplings, too... my favorite... and really enjoyed them, although there was nothing that blew me away.
I was disappointed I could not get the Tom Kha as a cup, but I guess that just means it's made fresh to order.
I ended up w/ the drunken noodles, and it was very nice.
There's nothing I can say that truly blew me away, or instilled a deep desire to return, so I cannot offer the 5 star rating... but it's a solid 3.5 rounded up to a 4...
Simple, tasty, quick. Absolutely nothing wrong here! -

Promptly seated! For Irving area, since there was no wait, I enjoyed getting seated immediately.
I really like that they have a varieties of teas. Thai tea, Jasmine tea & a variety of hot teas as well. Good perk!
I ordered the lunch Pad Tai level 2 in spice. This was pretty spicy for a level 2, but it wasn't unbearable to eat, but did have that extra spice. I liked the Pad Thai but felt it was pretty standard.
The lunch special comes with a salad or soup and your entree.
The inside is very nice and has appealing decor. They have a bar area, a big long table for larger parties, various seating inside as well as outside. -

Now that Soi 55 has been open several months, it has become our go-to Thai place in the neighborhood. We have our favorite dishes we frequently order at Thai restaurants, but at Soi 55, I've been able to try dishes I haven't had before like Goong Op, a clear noodle dish with a ginger flavored sauce. I don't find it at other Thai places, and it has become one of my favorite dishes. The other standard dishes, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, Khao Soi, and the curries are also great.
I agree with the reviewer who mentioned the crab rangoon with the curry powder. It's quite distinctive from the typical crab rangoon.
We've always had consistently good service at this restaurant.
I see some of the other negative reviews complaining about the service, but that has NEVER been our experience here, and we've eaten in the restaurant more 5 times since they opened. -

Ordered from ubereats, it took longer than it was supposed to but it was SO good that we didn't mind. I see that its a pretty low review score but not sure why! The green thai tea was perfectly flavored and a good size. Pad kra pow thai style tasted very authentic and we requested it to be mild since my sister can't eat spicy (level 1) and it was perfect! Not too hot, still a lot of flavor. Tom Kha veggie was not very good but usually it is supposed to be tom kha GAI so we didn't hold that against them. Veggie dumplings and spring rolls were tasty and came with sauce. Corn patties were also delicious and crispy!

Huge dinner portions. I had the chicken with string beans and it was delicious. It went for a late dinner around 8pm. Wasn't too busy so I felt the service should have been better.
